TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Rumor

Busy times at Toronto FC

After a few high profile exits, the club are prepared to make another splash. According to Goal's Ives Galarcep, TFC are reportedly interested acquiring Algerian international playmaker Sofiane Hanni from Russian club Spartak Moscow.

I'm told Toronto FC has its sights on Algerian playmaker Sofiane Hanni, currently at Spartak Moscow, as a DP replacement for Giovinco. TFC could definitely use his creativity after the departures of Giovinco and Victor Vasquez.

Hanni, 28, moved to Moscow last January on a transfer fee reported between €5.5-7.5 million from Belgian club Anderlecht. Hanni has made 31 appearances for the Russian outfit, with six goals and eight assists.

Prior to his time with Spartak, Hanni starred in Turkey and Belgium. He has made the most appearances with Anderlecht, where he had 23 goals and 25 assists in 86 matches. He also has 12 caps with the Algerian national team, scoring four goals.

Hanni would help solve playmaking concerns TFC may have after selling Sebastian Giovinco and Victor Vazquez this offseason. The two players combined for 46 assists in the last two seasons.

Toronto have also reportedly signed former US international striker Terrence Boyd from German side Darmstadt.
